Moon Phase, Personality and Fixed Stars Course

Join Kelly Surtees to add depth to your chart interpretation skills. We begin with the eight Moon phases and how they influence personality. Next, you’ll learn about sect and how sect changes the way aspects can manifest. You’ll begin to explore fixed stars and discover what fixed stars can add to birth chart interpretation. The final class outlines a step by step guide to interpreting a birth chart, including tips on chart synthesis.
Now that you’ve learned how to interpret planets and aspects, you’re ready to go deeper into chart interpretation. In this four-part training you’ll explore special chart configurations to understand some of the unique chart patterns and indicators you may see in practice.

Myth and Modern Astrology
with Jason Holley
In this course, we explore how engaging with the ancient stories and images from which our modern astrological symbolism arose can facilitate a deep experience of meaning, connection, and revelation in the astrological consultation.
Throughout the course, we will explore several stories: ancient myths and legends as well as the odysseys of human beings today. Readings will include excerpts from translations of ancient Greek, Roman, and Mesopotamian poetry and plays; and some articles from Jungian, archetypal psychology, classical studies, and the contemporary mythopoetic movement.
Homework: In the first half of the course, students will choose some figure of astrological symbolism to explore. In the second half of the course students will engage the symbolism using both ‘objective’ and ‘subjective’ methods, in order to experience for oneself the process of restoring a deeper experience of story, myth, and meaning to some area of life that matters.

Student Summer Retreat
with Tony Howard
Annual in-person summer retreat for students in our diploma program.
Join us as we gather in person to build community and enjoy our connection as we continue to integrate the course material.
This interactive weekend will include time to connect with each other and apply what you’ve learned over the last few months. Tony and your teaching assistants Kaia and Simona will lead you through some astrology-themed exercises and improv style “games” designed to facilitate connection as well as help you practice speaking this language. We’ll work through some charts together in real time, and everyone will have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.
Students from all years of the program will have the chance to interact at their own level. Breakout sessions will be organized by shared chart features to facilitate deeper discussion.
On Sunday afternoon at 3pm Mountain time, we’ll have a graduation ceremony for our year-four students! Those who can’t attend the graduation in person can join us on Zoom.
You’ll have plenty of opportunity to get to know the other students in class, during breaks, and in the evenings.
